Ronald Mettetal

Ronald J. Mettetal, 64, husband of Ruby "Bert" Mettetal, died Sunday, April 2, 2006, at Tuomey Regional Medical Center after a prolonged illness.

Born Jan. 2, 1942, in Millville, N.J., he was a son of the late Clarence J. Mettetal and the late Jeanne C. Mettetal.

He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and a member of the Marine Corps League. He was employed by Frasier Tire Service.

Survivors besides his wife include a son, Steve Baker of Sumter; two daughters, Judy Mettetal of Sumter and Janet Bayer and her husband, Chris, of Mt. Baldy, Calif.; his mother-in-law, Ruby Oxendine; two brothers, Richard A. Mettetal and his wife, Sandy, of Thurmont, Md., and Raymond Mettetal of Sumter; two sisters, Carol Schroeder and her husband, Jerry, of Media, Pa., and Shirley A. Bevins and her husband, Gary, of Millville, N.J.; seven grandchildren, Brooke Baker of Clemson, Kelly Baker, Caitlyn Mettetal and Ronald Jacob "R.J." Baker, all of Sumter, and Kirsty Bayer, Cassie Bayer and Alex Bayer, all of Mt. Baldy, Calif.; a very dear lifelong friend, Lloyd Jones of Sumter; and a number of nieces and nephews.
